Histone acetyltransferase inhibitors (or HAT inhibitors) are a class of compounds that interfere with the function of histone acetyltransferases. HATs and the connected acetylation events have been linked with a wide range of disease and physiological processes, specifically, deregulated HAT activity has been implicated in the development of a variety of cancers. Consequently, inhibitors of these enzymes have potential as anticancer agents.
