Bromodomain inhibitors are a collection of compounds that impede the function of bromodomains. There has been some success with BET (bromodomains and extra-terminal) family inhibitors which have shown therapeutic effects in multiple preclinical models of cancer and are presently in clinical trials in the United States. Bromodomain inhibition holds great potential for the treatment of a wide variety of cancers, inflammatory diseases, and neurological diseases.
